22-years old Pradeep Singh, topper in UPSC 2018, achieved the milestone when he cleared the UPSC examination. His efforts are praiseworthy because this was his first attempt and he cleared the examination with just one year of preparation. Pradeep Singh, one of the Youngest IAS Officer in the history of UPSC. Pradeep Singh passed this exam in the year 2018 with 93 rank.

Originally, from the Gopalganj district of Bihar, Pradeep Singh had a rather humble start. His father works as petrol pump attendant in Indore and has faced financial problems for most of his life.

Pradeep Singh completed bachelors in commerce from IIPS, DAVV, in 2017 after passing out from a private school in Indore. Pradeep is intelligent student from the childhood. He won many debates, extempore and quiz competitions. He was also active in student politics but his social life never distracted him from his aim. The family members were sure that of his success and now they are happy that he achieved it so soon.

Family Background :-

He is from a very simple family and his father works at a petrol pump. Pradeep’s father Manoj Singh, petrol pump attendant, had shifted to Indore from Bihar in a hope to give a new life to my family. He struggled a lot and but finally a happy man that his son has been selected as IAS. His father sold his house two years ago and started living in rented accommodation so that he could send him money for his classes in Delhi.

Pradeep Inspired By his Father and Brother :-

Pradeep wanted to get a private job like his elder brother after completing his graduation in commerce, but his father and elder brother motivated him to concentrate only on his studies. They sent Pradeep to Delhi for the preparation of UPSC. Inspired by his father and elder brother, Pradeep decided to appear for the civil services examination.

Credits of his Success and Adjusting to the New Situation :-

According to Pradeep, ” The past two years were very tough for us but I am happy that I made my family proud”. It was difficult for me to adjust to Delhi’s lifestyle and find time to study but my determination helped me to stay focused while avoiding all distractions. He gives credit of his success to his grandfather, Mother, Father and educator.

Pradeep always considered the first attempt as the last :-

When Pradeep started preparations for UPSC examiy. He had seated in his mind that this is his first and last chance. He said that if there is no selection in a one year, then preparations would have gone back two years. Once to give this exam means at least 2 years preparation. Seeing his father’s position, he wanted to complete his mission as quickly as possible. No one has ever been selected in this examination from Pradeep’s place. When Pradeep was preparing, he forgot that the outside world also means something, who is freind or having fun in free time. He had a one-point program waking up in the morning to retire from daily tasks and sit down to study. This schedule lasted one and a half years.

He said that -” All I wanted was to attempt the examination in the very first attempt and by grace of God, elders and guidance of Vikash Sir, the result was positive”.

Working as IAS-Officer :-

Pradeep insists, ” I will never forget my roots bacause that is my biggest strength. I have seen and experienced the struggle of my parents and elder brother. I am aware of development ingredients. I can truly say that I understand what needs to be done in administration”.

Pradeep’s Advice to Future Aspirants :-

Work hard for what you want because it  would not come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticises you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength. Such strength provides indomitable spirit to achieve the milestone”.
