Vishal Krishna Reddy popularly known as Vishal is an Indian actor and producer who is known for working in  Tamil Cinema. He was born on 29th August 1977 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra radish to G, K. Reddy and Janaki Devi. His father is a film producer. He has an elder brother, Vikram Krishna and a sister, Aishwarya. Actress and ex-VJ Sriya Reddy is his sister-in-law. He did his schooling at Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai. He studied Visual Communication at Loyola College, Chennai. Later, he joined Koothu-P-Pattarai, a Tamil theatre group to improve his acting skills.

He appeared in the 1989 film Jadikketha Moodi as a child artist.

Vishal started his career as an Assistant Director for the film Dedham in 2001. 

Vishal made his film debut as a lead character in the 2004 film Chellamae.

In 2005, he appeared in the film Sandakozhi. His performance received mixed reviews. In that year, he appeared in a cameo appearance in the film Dishum.

In 2006, he appeared in two films, Thimiru and Sivappathigaram. He received favourable reviews for his performance.

In 2007, he starred in two films, Thaamirabharani and Malaikottai. His performance received mixed reviews for both films.

In 2008, he had only released the film, Satyam. The film marked his Telugu debut, as the film was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Salute.

In 2009, he was seen in two films, Thoranai and Pistha.

In 2010, he had only released the film, Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai.

Avan Ivan and Vedi were his two releases of 2011. His performance in Avan Ivan was praised and he won Norway Tamil Festival Award for Special Jury Award and several nominations. 

In 2013, he appeared in several films, including Samar, Pattathu Yaanai, Pandiya Naadu and a cameo appearance in Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru. He was nominated 8th Vijay Awards for Best Actor.

In 2014, he acted in three films, Naan Sigau Manitha, Poojai and a cameo appearance in Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam.

In 2015, he had three releases, Aambala, Paayum Puli and a cameo appearance in Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga.

He appeared in three films in 2016. The films were Kathakali, Marudhu and Kaththi Sandai. 

In 2017, he made his Malayalam debut with the film Villain. He also appeared in the film, Thuarivaalan that year. His performance in the film was highly praised. He also got a nomination for Vijay Awards for Best Actor.

In 2018, he appeared in the films, Irumbu Thirai and Sandakozhi 2.

He appeared in two films, Ayogya and Action in 2019.

Chakra and Enemy were his two releases in 2021. 

He was last seen in 2022 film Veerame Vaagai Soodum.

He has three upcoming films, Laththi, Thupparivaalan 2 and Mark Antony.

He hosted the 2018 television show Sun Naam Oruvar.

In 2013, Vishal launched his production company, Vishal Film Factory. He produced several films, such as Pandiya Naadu, Naan Sigau Manthan, Poojai, AambalaVeerame Vaagai Soodum etc.

In 2015, Vishal served as the General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam (Tamil Artistes’ Association). After that, he was expelled from the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) for remarks against the council. In 2017, Vishal won the election and was elected as the President of the Tamil Film Producers Council. 

Vishal also tried his luck in politics. He filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the by-poll to the Radhakrishnan Nagar constituency in Chennai. But his nomination was rejected.

Apart from it, Vishal also protested against online piracy from 2014 and started an anti-piracy cell.

In 2019, Vishal married actress, Anisha Alla Reddy.
