Born on December 21, 1989, Tamannaah Bhatia is an Indian actress known for working in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films. She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra to Santosh and Rajani Bhatia and also has an elder brother, Anand Bhatia. 

Tamannaah did her schooling at the Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School, Mumbai. While performing at her school’s annual day function, she was spotted and was offered a role after she became a part of Mumbai’s Prithvi Theatre for a year. She was just 13 at that time. Later in 2005, she also appeared in Abhijeet Sawant’s album song, “Lafzo Mein”. 

In the same year, she made her acting debut with the film, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, which was however a failure at the box office. The same year, she made her debut in the Telugu film industry with Sri and then in the Tamil film industry with Kedi in 2006. 

Following this in 2007, she was seen in the film, Viyabari and also received appreciation for her performance. However, the film was not so successful at the box office. She got her breakthrough with films like Happy Days and Kalloori for which she got critical acclaim for her performance. The commercial success of both the films established her career as an actress in Telugu as well as the Tamil film industry. She was also nominated in the Best Tamil Actress category at the 56th Filmfare Awards South. 

Next after working in some other average-grossing films, she started receiving more recognition with the 2009 film, Padikkadavan, and was seen opposite actor, Dhanush. The film was also a commercial success. Her next Telugu release was Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam which earned positive reviews and critical acclaim. Her next release which was KV Anand’s Ayan became the only major commercially successful Tamil film of the year following which she was seen in films like Ananda Thandavam, Kanden Kadhalai, Paiyaa, Sura, etc. 

Later after taking a break of two years, she made a comeback to Telugu cinema with Sukumar’s 100% Love opposite Naga Chaitanya. She received immense praise for her performance and also earned several nominations. Following this, she also won the Best Actor Female Award at CineMAA Awards 2012. During this while, she featured in a number of successful films which went on to establish her as a successful actress in the industry. 

In the year 2013, Tamannaah was seen in the Bollywood film, Himmatwala opposite Ajay Devgan and it also marked her comeback to Hindi cinema. Her other release in 2013 included Tadakha in which she was seen by opposite actors like Naga Chaitanya, Sunil, and Andrea Jeremiah. 

In 2014, she made her comeback to the Tamil film industry with Siva’s Veeram opposite actor Ajith Kumar. Following this, she worked in films like Humshakals, Entertainment, Aagadu, Nannbeda, Baahubali, Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga, Bengal Tiger, Oopiri, etc. 

Over years, Tamannaah has emerged as one of the successful actresses in the industry as she simultaneously works in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. She has worked in many modeling assignments and television commercials.
