Shriya Saran Bhatnagar known as Shriya Saran is an Indian actress and model who is known for acting in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films. She was born on 11th September 1982 in Haridwar to Pushpendra Saran Bhatnagar and Neeraja Saran Bhatnagar. Her father worked for Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and her mother was a chemistry teacher in Delhi Public School, Ranipur, and Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. She has an elder brother, Abhiroop. Shriya completed her schooling at Delhi Public School, Uttarakhand, and Delhi Public School, New Delhi. She completed her B. A. In Literature from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. Shriya learned Kathak and Rajasthani folk dances from her mother. Later she joined Shovana Narayan to train Kathak.
Shriya made her film debut with the 2001 Telugu film Ishtam.
In 2002, she appeared in three films, Santosham, Ghennakesava Reddy, and Nuvve Nuvve. She received positive reviews and several nominations for her performance in Santosham.
