Puneeth Rajkumar was an Indian actor, playback singer, television presenter and producer who is known for working in Kannada cinema. He was born on 17th March 1975 in Chennai, India to Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma. His father was a matinee idol, actor and singer and his mother was an Indian film producer and distributor. He had two elder brothers, Shiva and Raghavendra, and two elder sisters, Lakshmi and Poornima.
He started his acting career as a child artist in 1976 with Premada Kanike. He appeared in several other films as a child artist, such as Sanaadi Appanna, Thayige Thakka Maga, Vasantha Geetha, Bhoomige Banda Bhagavantha, Bhagyavantha, Parashuram etc. His acting was praised as a child artist, and he even won two Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Child Actor (Male) and a National Film Award. He gained popularity with his acting.
In 1994, Puneeth started working as a manager in his family’s production house.
In 2002, Puneeth made his film debut in a lead role in the film Appu.
In 2003, he was seen in the film, Abhi.
In 2004, he appeared in two films, Veera Kannadiga, and Maurya.

On 20th July 2017, Puneeth founded PRK Productions with his wife. Under its banner, he produced several films, such as Kavaludaari, Law, French biriyani, Family Pack, Man of the Match etc. He was also the owner of the music label PRK Audio.
He owns Premier Futsal team Bengaluru Royals.

Puneeth married Kannada film producer Ashwini Revanath on 1st December 1999. Together they have two daughters, Drithi and Vanditha.
Puneeth died on 29th October 2021 due to cardiac arrest. He was buried at Sree Kanteerava Studios, Bangalore.
