Prithviraj Sukumaran is an Indian actor, director, producer and playback singer who is known for working in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema. He was born on 16th October 1982 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India to Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran. His parents were actors and actresses. He has a brother, Indrajith. He did his schooling at Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School, Chennai, St. Joseph’s Boys School, Coonoor, NSS Public School, Perunthanni, St. Mary’s Residential Central School, Poojappura, Sainik School, Kazhakootam and Bhavan’s Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor. He completed his bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of Tasmania, Australia,
In 2002, Prithviraj made his acting debut in the Malayalam film, Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari. In that year he also appeared in two films, Stop Violence and Nandanam.
In 2003, he appeared in five films, Meerayude Dukhavum Muthuvinte Swapnavum, Vellithira, Swapnakoodu, Ammakilikkoodu and Chakram. For his performance in Meerayude Dukhavum Muthuvinte Swapnavum and Chakram, he earned Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for Best Actor.
