Gautham Karthik is an Indian actor who is known for acting in Tamil films. He was born on 12th September 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to Karthik and Ragini. Actor R. Muthuraman was his grandfather. He has two brothers, Thiran Karthik and Ghayn Karthik. He completed his schooling at Hebron School, Ooty and Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai. He did his graduation in psychology, English & Media from Christ University, Bangalore. During his college time, he performed as a guitarist and vocalist in the band Dead End Street.
In 2013, Gautham made his film debut with Kadal. His performance was praised. He won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South, Vijay Award for Best Debut Actor and SIIMA Award for Best male Debutant for his performance.
In 2014, he appeared in his second film, Yennamo Yedho. His acting was praised.
His third film was Vai Raja Vai in 2015.
He starred in five films, in 2017. The films were, Muthuramalingam, Rangoon, Ivan Thanthiran, Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Indrajith.
