Allu Arjun is an Indian actor who is known for acting in Telugu films. He was born on 8th April 1982 in Chennai to film producers Allu Aravind and Nirmala. He has an elder brother, Venkatesh and a young brother, Sirish. He did his Schooling at St. Patrick School, Chennai and Completed his BBA Degree from MSR College, Hyderabad.
He made his acting debut as a child artist, with the film Vijetha in 1985, when he was just three years old. As a child artist, he also appeared in the film Swathi Muthyam in 1986.
In 2001, he appeared as a dancer in the film Daddy.
He made his adult debut, with the film Gangotri in 2003.
In 2004, he was seen in his second film, Arya. It was a breakthrough performance from him. For his performance in the film, Allu was nominated for his first Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award and won a Nandi Special Jury Award at the Nandi Awards of 2008 ceremony, two CineMAA Awards for Best Actor and Best Actor Jury.
In 2005, he starred in the film Bunny.
Happy was his only released film in 2006.
In 2007, he acted in the film, Desamuduru and made a cameo role in the film, Shankar Dada Zindabad. His performance in Desamuduru, helped him to win a Santosham Film Award, a CineMAA Award and a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu.
Parugu was his only released film in 2008. For his acting in the film, Allu Arjun won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu and the second Nandi Special Jury Award.
In 2009, he acted in the film, Arya 2.
He appeared in two films, Varudu and Vedam in 2010. For his performance in the film, Vedam, he won his second Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu.
Badrinath was his only released film in 2011.
In 2012, he starred in the film, Julayi. His acting in the film, helped him to earn a nomination for the SIIMA Award for Best Actor (Telugu).
In 2013, he was seen in the film, Iddarammayilatho.
In 2014, he produced and acted in the short film, I Am That Change. Later that year, he appeared in two films, Race Gurram and Yevadu. In Yevadu he was seen in a cameo role. His performance in Race Gurram was praised, and he won his third Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu and was also nominated for SIIMA Award for Best Actor (Telugu).
In 2015, he starred in two films, S/O Satyamurthy and Rudhramadevi. For his performance in the film, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor – Telugu and three other awards.
In 2016, 2017, and 2018, he acted in three films, Sarrainodu, DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham and Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India.
In 2020, his only film, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo released.
Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 was his last film released in 2021.
He has an upcoming film, Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Apart from acting, Allu was featured in the GQ in their listing of the most influential young Indians of 2020. He has appeared on Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2014. He is the ‘Most Searched Male Celebrity in 2020 on Yahoo! India. Allu was the most searched Telugu film actor on Google Search, several times.
