The serial aired on 14 February 2022 on Colors Marathi tv channel. It stars Hemangi Kavi and Sushil Imandar in the lead role. The show is based on Hindi Television serial Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki aired from 2016 to 2021 on Colors TV Channel. Lek Majhi Durga is a story of a curious girl Durga and her financially struggling mother. Durga is a transgender lady who is humiliated and treated rudely.

Lek Majhi Durga narrates the story of Durga, a transgender, who faces discrimination and humiliation in everyday life. Durga fights back for her acceptance in the society. Durga belongs to a Jagtap Family who lives in a small village near Satara. To everyone Durga has a happy family- a loving mother at home, a caring father. But in reality, her father doesn’t love her. She also faces ignorance and disrespect from her father for being transgender. The show would portray Durga’s fight for society acceptability against these individuals. The female lead role of Durga is played by Hemangi Kavi.
