He learned to play different musical instruments during his younger days and entered the Spanish talent hunting competition “La Banda” in its very first season. In the show, Jesus and four other artists—Erick Brian Colón, Christopher Vélez, Joel Pimentel, and Richard Camacho—were put together to form a boy band. The band was named CNCO and witnessed a remarkable response from the audience as well as the judges. They went on to win the show as well as a five-year contract from Sony Music Latin.
Jesus and the band performed their finale song, “Devuélveme Mi Corazón,” which had become immensely popular, at Times Square in New York on New Year’s Eve 2016. The album also had fourteen singles, including “Slow Reggaeton,” which was viewed over 1.5 billion times on YouTube within a year of its release. The album debuted at number 33 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.It also featured in other top charts like PROMUSICAE (Spanish Chart) and AMPROFON (Mexican Chart).
