Winona Laura Horowitz popularly known as Winona Ryder is an American actress who is known for acting in American television series and films. She was born on 29th October 1971 in Winona, Minnesota, United States to Michael D. Horowitz and Cynthia Palmer. Her father is an author, editor, publisher, and antiquarian bookseller, and her mother is an author, video producer, and editor. She has a brother, Urie. She also has a half-brother Jubal Palmer and a half-sister Sunyata Palmer. She did her schooling at Kenilworth Junior High. When she was twelve years old, she was admitted to American Conservatory Theater. She did her graduation from Petaluma High School with a 4.0 GPA.

Winona made her acting debut with the 1986 film Lucas. For her performance, she gained popularity. Her second film was Square Dance, in which she appeared in 1987. Her performance was acclaimed. In 1988, she appeared in two films, Beetlejuice and 1969. Beetlejuice was another successful film, for her performance she gained popularity.
