Stephen Lang is an American actor who is known for acting in Hollywood films. He was born on 11th July 1952 in New York City, United States to the late Eugene Lang and late Theresa. His father was a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist. His father died in 2017, while his mother died in 209. He has one elder brother, David and one elder sister, Jane. He did his schooling in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York City Public School, George Ryan Junior High School, George School, Newtown. Stephen completed his graduation in English Literature from Swarthmore College.

He started his acting career with stage plays. 

In 1985, Stephen made his television debut with the television film, Death of a Salesman. In that year he made his film debut with Twice in a Lifetime.

In 1986, he appeared in two films, Band of the Hand and Manhunter. In that year, he was seen in the television series Crime Story.

Project X was his only released film in 1987.

In 1989, he was seen in the film, Last Exit to Brooklyn. His performance was highly acclaimed in the film. The Equalizer was his only released television series of that year.

In 1991, he had two released films, The Hard Way and Another You. He also appeared in the television movie Babe Ruth that year.

Taking Back My Life: The Nancy Ziegenmeyer Story was his only released television film in 1992. In that year, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his acting in the play The Speed of Darkness. In that year, he starred in the play A Few Good Men. His performance attracted the audience’s eyes. He won several awards along with Drama Desk and Helen Hayes Awards.

In 1993, he had four releases, Guilty as Sin, Gettysburg, The Making of Gettysburg(Video documentary) and Tombstone. Darkness Before Dawn was his only released television film of that year.

In the following years, he appeared in several films, The Amazing Panda Adventure (1995), Gang in Blue (1996), Fire Down Below (1997), Escape: Human Cargo (1998), The Story of a Bad Boy (1999), Trixie (2000), The Proposal (2001), D-Tox (2002), The I Inside (2003), The Treatment (2006), Save Me (2007), From Mexico with Love (2008) etc. In this period, some of his notable television works are Baseball (1994), The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1995), The West (1996), The Outer Limits (1997), Escape: Human Cargo (1998), The Fugitive (2000), After the Storm (2001), Ed (2002), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2003), Law & Order (2005), The Bronx is Burning (2007), Medal of Honor (works as a narrator) (2008) etc.

In 2009, he appeared in Avatar. After his appearance, he earned popularity globally and his performance was praised. Not only that, he even won several nominations and won Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor. In that year, he was seen in another film, The Men Who Stare at Goals. Psych was his only released television series of that year. In that year, he also worked as a narrator in Duel and Throttle.
