An American actor, Jonathan Joseph Heder, popularly known as Jon Heder was born on October 26, 1977, in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is the son of Helen and physician James Heder. He also has an identical twin brother, Dan, an elder brother Doug, and two younger brothers, Adam and Matt.
He is of Swedish descent but moved to Salem, Oregon at the age of 2 with his parents. Over there, he attended the Walker Middle School in Salem and then did his graduation from the South Salem High School in 1996. During his college days, he was also a member of the swim team and the drama club. He is also an Eagle Scout and served as a Scoutmaster in 2010.
Being a 2002 alumnus of Brigham Young University, Heder worked on the short animated film, Pet Shop. At the same time, he also befriended Jared Hess and starred in Hess’ short film, Peluca, which was later expanded into Napoleon Dynamite.
The comedy feature film was shot in Preston, Idaho, and went on to earn $44.5 million. In the year 2005, he received the MTV Movie Award for Best Musical Performance and Breakthrough Male Performance for the role. In October 2005, he then hosted Saturday Night Live with the musical guest, Ashlee Simpson.
In the same year, he played a supporting role as a clerk in a new age bookstore in the romantic comedy film, Just Like Heaven. Next, in 2006, he again appeared in another comedy film, The Sasquatch Gang, and then The Benchwarmers opposite Rob Schneider and David Spade. Next, Heder along with his twin brother Dan featured in the fourth installment of the popular internet martial arts comedy series, Sockbaby. In 2012, he returned to the role that got him prominence by supplying the voice of Napoleon Dynamite in the Fox Network animated series, Napoleon Dynamite which debuted in January 2012.
Talking about his personal life, Heder got married to Kirsten Bales in 2002. He met her while attending Brigham Young University. The couple has four children and is also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
