Joseph James Rogan is an American UFC colour commentator, podcaster, comedian, actor, and former television presenter who is known for acting and commentator. He was born on 11th August 1967 in Newark, New Jersey. His father’s name is Joseph, is a former police officer in Newark. He completed his schooling and graduated from Newton South High School. He attended the University of Massachusetts Boston but dropped out early. In his childhood, he participated in Little League Baseball and developed an interest in martial arts in his early teens. Rogan took up karate and, a year later started Taekwondo.

When he was 19, he won the US Open Championship taekwondo tournament as a lightweight. Later, he signed as a full-contact for Massachusetts state champion for four consecutive years and became a Taekwondo instructor. After that, he practised amateur kickboxing and held a 2–1 record.

Joe started his career in comedy. After that, he worked in several places such as teaching martial arts at Boston University and in Revere, Massachusetts, delivering newspapers, driving a limousine, doing construction work, and performing duties for a private investigator.

On August 27, 1988, he performed his first stand-up routine at a Stitches comedy club in Boston. Soon, he gained popularity. 

In 1994, he signed an exclusive developmental deal with Disney and appeared as an actor on several television shows, including Hardball and NewsRadio. He made his television debut in 1994 with Hardball. He also appeared in the comedy show Half-Hour Comedy Hour that year. After that, he performed at The Comedy Store in Hollywood and was hired as a paid regularly by owner Mitzi Shore. 

In 1995, he appeared in the television series, NewsRadio.

MADtv was his only released television series in 1996.

In 1997, he started working for the UFC as an interviewer and colour commentator. For his work, Rogan won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for Best Television Announcer twice and was named MMA Personality of the Year four times by the World MMA Awards. In the same year, he wrote and acted in the television series, Bruce Testones, Fashion Photographer.  

He released his first comedy special, I’m Gonna Be Dead Someday …, in 2000. In the same year, his single, Voodoo Punanny also released.

In 2001, he hosted the game show Fear Factor and the television show Late Friday.

In 2002, he appeared in Just Shoot Me!

In 2003, he had several releases, including Good Morning, Miami, The Man Show, Chappelle’s Show and Last Comic Standing.

He was the announcer of The Ultimate Fighter in 2005.

Later he hosts four other television shows, Inside the UFC, UFC Weird, Joe Rogan Questions Everything and Game Show in My Head.

He also appeared in several films and documentaries from 2002 to 2016, such as It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, The Union: The Business Behind Getting High, DMT: The Spirit Molecule, Zookeeper l, Bright etc.

He launched The Joe Rogan Experience in 2009; by 2015, it was one of the most popular podcasts in the world, regularly receiving millions of plays per episode.

He also began a blog on his website, JoeRogan.net, which he used to discuss various topics that helped him develop his stand-up routines.
