Dhirendra Krishna Shastri was a Hindu monk and philosopher from India, who was known for his teachings on Advaita Vedanta. He was a disciple of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, a famous Advaita master and author of “I Am That.” Dhirendra Krishna Shastri was a spiritual teacher, author and speaker. He wrote several books on Advaita Vedanta and also gave lectures and conducted workshops on the subject. He was a well-known personality in spiritual circles in India and abroad. He passed away in 2010.

As Bageshwar Dham Sarkar’s popularity increased in India, people living near the temple somehow increased the price of land and in many cases, the rent of the near-up shops was hiked up to lakhs of rupees per month. Moreover many accused Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of acquiring government land with fake documents and political powers. Moreover, they also occupied a community building which was built by the Panchayat with its own funds of Rs 12 lakh Rupees.
In the same case, a Patwari Pawan Awasthi is accused of pressurizing land owners to transfer half of their land in the name of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. On July 2, 2022, in the presence of the police, an attempt was made to remove the topers of these families built on this land with JCB machine. On this, the victim’s family went to the court and got a stay there. Despite this, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri and his servants got the toppers removed at midnight by using JCB.
