Beverly D’Angelo is an American actress who is known for acting in Hollywood films. She was born on November 15, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, U.S. to Priscilla Ruth and Eugene Constantino “Gene” D’Angelo. Her father was a violinist and her mother was a bass player and television station manager. She has three brothers, Jeff, Tim, and Tony. D’Angelo attended Upper Arlington High School in Upper Arlington, Ohio, a northwest Columbus suburb. In 2009, she was awarded the Upper Arlington Alumni Association (UAAA) Distinguished Alumnus Award for achievement in her career.

Speaking about her career, before getting into acting, D’Angelo worked as an illustrator at Hanna-Barbera Studios and also as a singer. During this time, she also worked as a backup singer for American-born rockabilly singer Rompin’ Ronnie Hawkins’ band, The Hawks. 

Later, she started her acting career in theatre and appeared on Broadway in 1976 in Rockabye Hamlet, a musical play. Next in the same year, she also made her television debut in the first three episodes of the TV mini-series, Captains and the Kings. 

Next, she bagged a minor role in Annie Hall in 1977 followed by which she appeared in a string of hit movies in the late 1970s. Some of her works during this time were Every Which Way But Loose, Hair, and Coal Miner’s Daughter. 

However, her major break came in 1983 with Chevy Chase where she was seen in the role of Ellen Griswold and then reprised her role in four Vacation sequels and also a short film between 1985 and 2015. Next in the 1980s, she made a comeback on stage with Simpatico. She also won a Theatre World Award for her performance. 

In 1984, she was seen in the TV movie version of A Streetcar Named Desire. Next, D’Angelo featured in a number of dramatic films like Slow Burn, Judgement Day: The John List Story, and Sweet Temptation.
