An American actor, singer, and musician, Alexander Draper Wolff or popularly known as Alex Wolff was born on November 1, 1997, in New York City, United States. While his mother Polly Draper is an actress and a writer, his father Michael Wolff is a jazz pianist. He also has a younger brother, Nat Wolff who is also an actor and a musician.
Speaking about his career, he started acting from the age of 6 when he was seen in the 2005 musical comedy film, The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie which was written and directed by his mother. This was later commissioned by Nickelodeon as the pilot for the TV series, The Naked Brothers Band.
In 2007, he was seen portraying the role of a young boy in the Fall Out Boy music video titled “The Take Over, The Breaks Over”. He also made a cameo in the Nickelodeon TV movie, Mr Troop Mom, and the USA police-procedural, comedic television drama, Monk both in 2009. He next starred in his playwriting ‘What Would Woody Do?’ which was again directed by his mother. Following this, Alex next appeared in the 2011 comedy film, Sitter, and then in 2012 was seen opposite Brendan Fraser in the independent film, HairBrained.
In 2015, he starred in the indie drama film, Coming Through the Rye. In 2016, he played a supporting role in the comedy sequel, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 following which he was then playing the role of a terrorist in the drama, Patriots Day.
In the year 2018, he starred in the supernatural horror film, Hereditary. Apart from acting, he also ventured into direction and made his directorial debut with the 2019 film, The Cat and the Moon, which he also wrote and starred in.
In 2020, Wolff participated in a live classic play, Acting for a Cause, and screenplay reading series, created, directed, and produced by Brando Crawford.
Wolff has also won a number of awards for her performance including the Auteur Award at the San Diego International Film Festival.
