Home Remedies To Deal With Irregular Periods –
One of the most common problems among women is irregular periods. Missing or getting your period late once in a while is fine, but when it happens every now and then, it is a reason of concern. Irregular periods can be a nightmare for some women. While some women get their periods every 28 days, some have cycles that are not so predictable. A normal menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, up-down 7 days. A period is considered irregular if it occurs more frequently than every 21 days or lasts longer than 8 days. Missed, early, or late periods are also signs of an irregular cycle.
Irregular periods are medically known as Oligomenorrhea, which is considered to be quite a common problem in women. There are many factors that contribute to the irregularity of periods like extreme dieting and exercising, PCOD, birth control pills, eating disorders, etc. Today’s stressful and unhealthy lifestyles like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, certain medications and stress can also contribute to the problem.
Although Irregular Periods are not something you need to lose your nerves over, they still need to be dealt with. Hormones, contraceptive medicine can help in regularizing periods but they are not the most ideal option in the long run. If you feel that you cannot deal with the discomfort of unpredictable, irregular periods, you can try some home remedies for relief. There are some foods that can provide you relief from irregular periods.
Fennel seeds –
Fennel seeds is known as saunf in Hindi. Fennel seeds are also effective regulating menstrual cycles. Fennel seeds can be very helpful for painful periods. It’s antispasmodic properties relieve cramps. Fennel seeds can be boiled in water to make a fragrant tea that should be consumed every morning on an empty stomach in order to regulate your period and have a healthy flow. Repeat this for a month till your periods become regular.
Method of Use :-
Add 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds to a cup of boiling water and heat it for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, strain the solution, add honey and mix it well. Drink this tea thrice a day to see the results.

Ginger –
Ginger can be very helpful in regularizing your periods. Ginger is also very effective in regulating the menstrual flow and relieving cramps as well.
Method of Use :-
Ginger can be consumed in the form of juice and boil it in a cup of water for 5 minutes. Now strain this drink and add some honey to it. Drink this juice with your meals to get relief from cramps.

Cumin seeds –
Cumin seeds, also known as Jeera in Hindi. It is great ingredient to regularise your periods. Cumin seeds are really healthy for you. They help you in weight loss and also help you in improving digestion.
Method of Use :-
Add 2 tablespoon of cumin seeds in water at night and drink it next morning.

Papaya –
Start eating an unripe papaya which is known for contracting the muscle fibres of your uterus. It is the most effective home remedy available to prepare periods. This will help you regulate the menstrual flow. Eating green papaya regularly helps you have regular periods.
Method of Use :-
Papaya can be consumed in the form of juice. One cup of papaya juice (approx 200 ml) drink it two times in a day.
Carom seeds –
Carom seeds, also known as Ajwain in Hindi. A concoction of carom seeds and jaggery will help in including periods besides relieving menstrual cramps.
Method of Use :-
Boil 1 teaspoon of carom seeds with 1 spoon jaggery in 1 glass of water and consume it empty stomach in the morning.

Turmeric –
Turmeric is a great ingredient to help you with your irregular periods. Drinking turmeric milk is great for your overall health and also for your menstrual cycle.
Method of Use :-
In a one cup milk add a pinch of turmeric and heat it. Consume this milk every day before you go to bed.

Coriander seeds –
It is said to be the most effective home remedy for irregular periods because of its emmenagogue properties.
Method of Use :-
Boil 1 tablespoon of coriander seeds with 2 cups of water and wait until the water reduces to just one cup. Strain the solution and drink the concoction thrice a day before your monthly period.

Parsley Juice –
They are effective in stimulating menstrual process, relieving cramps and help in regulate irregular menstrual cycles.
Method of Use :-
Add a handful of parsley into boiling water and let it boil for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, strain the mixture and drink hot. You can drink this tea twice a day during periods to reduce the cramp.

Aloe Vera –
Aloe Vera juice is normally used to soothe an upset stomach, but it can be used to emmenagogue as well.
Method of Use :-
You can mix aloe vera gel with 1 tablespoon of honey and consume it before breakfast. Carry on the process for months to have good results.

Fruit and vegetable juices –
One of the major reasons responsible for irregular periods is lack of nutrition. Not eating an adequate amount of fruits and vegetables can rob your body of the essential nutrients it needs to function effectively. You can include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Carrot and grape juice are the most effective remedies for irregular periods.

Vegetables and fruit can be consumed in the form of juice.
