Ravi Shankar was a greatest musician he was born on 7th April 1920 in a Bengali family he was a master of sitar. Ravi Shankar was an Indian musician and has a great composer of Hindustani classical music and he was awarded with the India highest civilian honour of Bharat Ratna award in 1999. Ravishankar spent his more time to his youth as a dancer touring India and Europe with her brother (Uday Shankar) dance group. He gave up dance group in 1938 to study sitar playing under the court musician Alauddin Khan.

He finished his studies in 1944 after this he worked as a composer creating the music for the apu trilogy by Satya Jeet Rai and he was a music director of all India radio in New Delhi since from 1949 to 1956 almost seven year.

In 1956 Ravishankar playing Indian classical music and become a popular person in there in their life in 1960 through teaching, performance and his association with violinist with “Yehudi menohin,” and beatless guitarist “George Harrison”.

Ravi shankar was engaged in Western music and was writing competition for sitar and orchestra .he toured the world in the 1970 and 1980.

He was also a member of parliament Rajya sabha since from 12th May 1986 to 11th May 1992.he was a nominated member of rajya sabha in upper chamber of the parliament of India.

He born on 7 April 1920 in Banaras  and was an seventh youngest brother. His father name was Ram Shankar Chaudhary he was a middle temple barrister.

Shyam Shankar Chaudhari was and respected state men lawyer and politician he served as a several year as “prime minister” of jalavar and Rajasthan.

Career of Ravi Shankar

Ravi Shankar parents had died by the time he returned from the Europe to he gave up more to his dancing carier in 19382 to go to tu Maihar and he studied Indian classical music under the court of Khan.

Khan was living in Gurukul Khan was a best and experienced teacher and Sankara had trained on sitar studied with Khan’s student whose name was Ali Akbar Khan and Annapurna Devi.

Shankar begin aap performing on sitar in December 1939 duet with Ali Akbar Khan he was a player of string instrument.

Shankar completed his training in 1944 and moved to Mumbai and joined the ” Indian peoples theatre association”.

The popular song sing by Ravi Shankar is “sare Jahan se achcha” in the age of 25 years he worked as all India radio.

Ravi Shankar awarded as Indian highest civilian honour the Bharat Ratna award in 1999 received three Grammy award for his outstanding works .
