Song Kang-ho is a South Korean actor who is known for acting in South Korean films and theatres. He was born on 17th January 1967 in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang, South Korea.

In his early life, he worked as manual labour on construction sites.

Initially, Song joined Kee Kuk-seo’s theatre company. In 1990, he made his acting debut with the theatre show, Teacher Choi. 

In 1991, Song was seen in two stage shows, Park Cheomji and A Little Monk.

Fly Birds, Kooni, Nara and I have soup were his three released stage shows in 1992.

In 1993, he acted in a theatre show, Women’s rebellion.

In 1994, he starred in the theatre show, Giselle.

In 2022, he starred in two films, Broker and Emergency Declaration. For his performance in Broker, he was awarded Best Actor at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

In 2020, The New York Times ranked him #6 on its list of the 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century. In 2013, 2017, 2019 and 2020, he has been named Gallup Korea’s Film Actor of the Year four times.

He won several other awards and nominations for his performance.

He does several social and humanitarian works.

In 1995, Song married Hwang Jang-suk. Together, they have two children, Song Jun-pyoung and Song Ju-yeon.
