Seo In-guk is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actor who is known for working in the South Korean film industry. He was born on 23rd October 1987 in Ulsan, South Korea. He has a younger sister. His mother worked as a recyclables collector and his father as a welder. When Seo was in school, he was trained as a ssireum wrestler, learned boxing and mixed martial arts, and is a Hapkido 2nd dan. He studied Applied Music at Daebul University. Later, he enrolled at Kyung Hee Cyber University, Department of Information and Communication. He also did his Master’s degrees in Performing Arts at Dongguk University and Practical Music (Composition) at Baekseok University.

In 2009, he first appeared in the television show, Superstar K, and won the competition. He also released his first song Calling that year. He won the Male Newcomer of the Year Award at the 2009 Cyworld Digital Music Awards.

In 2010, Seo released his first single album Just Beginning with the lead single “I Love U”.

His other single Broken released in 2011. He also wrote the lyrics for the song Shake It Up.

In 2012, Seo made his acting debut as a supporting actor in the television series Love Rain. He was also seen in two other television series that year, Reply 1997 and The Sons.

In 2013, Seo made his film debut with No Breathing. Reply 1994 and Master’s 1994 were his two released television series of the year. He appeared in a documentary, I’m Seo In-guk that year. He was also seen in the drama, Shopping King Louie. For his performance, Seo was awarded the Excellence Award at the 2016 MBC Drama Awards. He appeared as a cast member in the television show, Law of the Jungle in Mongolia.

The Smile Has Left Your Eyes was his only released television series in 2018.

In 2019, he was seen in another television series, Abyss.

In 2021, he appeared in two television series, Doom at Your Service and Navillera. Pipeline was his only released film of the year.

In 2014, he became the brand ambassador of the 2014 Korea Brand & Hallyu Product Expo (KBEE). He also became the ambassador of Baekseok University Graduate School. In 2021, he was also the ambassador of Seoul Tourism Promotion: Seoul Six Senses.
