Preity G Zinta is an Indian actress and entrepreneur who is known for her acting in Bollywood films. She was born on 31st January 1975 in Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh, India to Durganand Zinta and Nilprabha. Her father was an Indian Army officer. She has two brothers, Deepankar and Manish. She completed her schooling at the Convent of Jesus and Mary boarding school, in Shimla. Later, she completed her English honours degree from St. Bede’s College, Shimla. After that, she started a graduate programme in psychology and earned a postgraduate degree in criminal psychology.
Then Preity started modelling and appeared in many television commercials.
In 1998, Preity made her acting debut with the Bollywood film, Dil Se.. Her small appearance was praised and she won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the same year, she made her Telugu debut with Premante Idera. Her performance was praised again and she earned a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu. She was also seen in another Hindi film, Soldier later that year.

In 2003, Preity appeared in four films. It was the most successful year for Prity. The films were, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Koi… Mil Gaya, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Armaan.
