Nakuul Mehta is an Indian television Actor, Dancer, Model and TV Host. He was born on 17 January 1983, in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India in a Royal Family. He descends from King Prithviraj Chauhan of Rajput Chauhan dynasty of Mewar. He is best known for playing the role of Shivaay Singh Oberoi in Ishqbaaaz for which he earned seven awards for Best Actor, Aditya Harish Kumar in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara for which he earned four awards for Best Actor, and Sumer Singh Dhillon in Never Kiss Your Best Friend. His father’s name is Pratap Singh Mehta, who is a veteran of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, while his great-great grandfather Laxmilal Mehta was the military-in-chief of the Mewar region.
Nakuul Mehta did his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School. After that, he completed his graduation from Mumbai University. Mehta’s qualification is Master of Commerce. He was also trained in dance forms including jazz, hip hop, break, folk, salsa and contemporary. He is a trained ballroom dancer having learned under India’s foremost ballroom teacher and Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar. In June 2011, he represented Maharashtra in the All India Dance Sport Federation. He was a silver medalist in the Latin Ballroom Category and is a gold medal winner in the Standard Ballroom category. He got married to singer Jankee Parekh on 28 January 2012. They had their first child on 3 February 2021, a boy, Sufi.
He always wanted to become an actor. Before making his acting debut, he has worked in more than 50 ad commercials. In 2005, he made his big screen debut with the movie “Abhimani”. His career breakthrough came with his television show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, with this serial he became very famous and people loved his character. He made his film debut with a Telugu film, Indian Beauty. He also appeared in short films like Avant Garde and Ved and Arya. In 2015, he hosted India’s Got Talent season 6. He also took part in web series such as I Don’t Watch TV (2016), Never Kiss Your Best Friend (2020), Bae Control (2020), and Sunny Side Upar (2021).
