Dia Handrich known as Dia Mirza Rekhi is an Indian model, actress, producer, and social worker who is known for acting in Hindi films. She was born on 9th December 1981 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India to Frank and Deepa Handrich. Her father is a German graphics and industrial fair designer, architect, artist and interior designer and her mother, Deepa, is a Bengali interior designer and landscaper. Ahmed Mirza is her stepfather. She took the surname of her stepfather. She completed her schooling at Vidyaranya High School and Nasr School. Later, she attended Stanley Junior College and then graduated from Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad with a Bachelor of Arts.
She started her career as a marketing executive for a media firm, Neeraj’s Multi-media Studio. After that, she became a model for print and TV commercials. At that time, she become the second runner-up at the Miss India pageant in 2000 and then went on to win the Miss Asia Pacific title on 3rd December 2000. Mirza was the second runner-up at Femina Miss India 2000. In her modelling career, she won Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Avon and Miss Close-Up Smile in Miss India.
She made her film debut in 1999 in En Swasa Kaatre.
In 2001, she made her Hindi film debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. Deewaanapan was her only released Hindi film of the year.
In 2002, she acted in a Hindi film, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge.
