Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan popularly known as Aamir Khan is an Indian actor, film director and producer who is known for working in the Hindi film industry. He was born on 14th March 1965 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to Taahir Hussain and Zeenat Hussain. His father was a film producer. Late producer-director Nasir Hussain was his paternal uncle. He has three other siblings, Faisal Khan, Farhat and Nikhat Khan.

Actor Imran Khan is his nephew. Aamir Khan is also the second cousin of six-time Member of Rajya Sabha, former Bharatiya Janata Party vice president and the 16th Governor of Manipur Najma Heptulla, who is the grand-niece of Abul Kalam Azad. Aamir did his schooling at J.B. Petit School, St. Anne’s High School, and Bombay Scottish School. When Aamir was sixteen years old, he was involved in the experimental process of making a 40-minute silent film, Paranoia. He played the lead role in the film and also co-directed the film.
